Alienware 15 (2026)

Our take: The Alienware 15 (2026) is a weak buy unless it is heavily discounted and you want a cooler, quieter budget gaming laptop with decent battery life and Alienware styling. Best for casual gamers who like the brand and do not care about getting maximum FPS. Skip it if you want the best value, a better screen, features like a MUX switch, Advanced Optimus or good upgrade options.
Configs to buy / avoid: The AMD version offers better battery life than the Intel version. Only the RTX 5050 and 5060 options have the larger 70Wh battery, RTX 3050 and 4050 are limited to smaller 54Wh battery. The main problem is, so far, they're typically more expensive compared to better laptops (see alternatives below).
Testing notes: The Alienware 15 delivered 7.5 hours of YouTube playback on battery, low battery drain while asleep, cool thermals, lower fan noise than many gaming laptops, and better screen response and system latency than several budget rivals. Game performance was similar to other power-limited RTX 5060 laptops because the GPU ran around 86W under heavy load.
Trade-offs: The main compromises were poor screen colors with only 54% sRGB, 300 nit brightness, no MUX switch, no Advanced Optimus, no G-Sync, only one M.2 slot, one RAM stick installed, tinny speakers, terrible Latencymon results, and weak creator performance.
Alternatives: If the Alienware 15 is priced above proper budget territory, which is normal for the Alienware brand, consider the Lenovo LOQ 15 because it offers more features and better performance for less money. We've even seen far more premium models such as ASUS's Strix G16 on sale for less than the Alienware 15, making the Alienware 15 a laptop to avoid unless heavily discounted.
