MSI Raider 16 Max (2026) Deals in Australia

Our take: The MSI Raider 16 Max (2026) is worth considering on sale if you want some of the best performance available in a 16-inch laptop. It’s best for gamers and creators who mostly work plugged in; skip it if portability or a premium feel matters more than raw speed & tuning.
Configs to buy / avoid: The Raider is available with an IPS or OLED screen. We tested OLED, but consider IPS if you want to avoid the risks of screen burn in, a reflective glossy screen, or if you're sensitive to screen flicker.
Testing notes: Our unit delivered excellent gaming and CPU performance while keeping the keyboard and wrist rests comfortable under load. Balanced mode was particularly impressive in Cyberpunk 2077, where extreme mode ran with 22% louder fans for just 3% more FPS.
Trade-offs: There’s no G-Sync or Advanced Optimus, the mostly plastic chassis feels cheap for the price, and the touchpad in our unit was loose and rattled. Battery life was under five hours in YouTube playback, while MSI's new highest performance Apex mode dramatically increased fan noise for little extra performance.
Alternatives: Consider Lenovo’s Legion Pro 7i or ASUS’s Strix Scar 16 if they cost the same or slightly more. At the time of our review, these alternatives were slightly cheaper and generally better laptops, making them easier to recommend over the Raider. The Raider’s slightly better performance alone doesn’t justify paying more.
