ASUS Zephyrus G14 (2025)

Configs to buy / avoid: The RTX 5060 and 5070 models are good, but the G14 is the only 14" gaming laptop with the RTX 5070 Ti inside, and its 12GB VRAM will provide better longevity in future games. Spending more on the higher tier 5080 version isn't recommended due to diminishing returns. Try to avoid 16GB RAM unless heavily discounted, as RAM is soldered and can never be upgraded. Testing notes: The Zephyrus G14 delivered one of the best battery results we've measured, slow battery drain while asleep, good RTX 5070 Ti gaming performance for a 14 inch laptop, sub-1ms OLED screen response times, Advanced Optimus, G-Sync, amazing speakers, fast MicroSD performance, and a premium CNC aluminum chassis. Trade-offs: The main compromises are soldered RAM, only one M.2 SSD slot, no BIOS tuning, hotter middle keyboard temps under heavy load, louder fans when maxed out, no ethernet, one-zone RGB lighting, and Type-C charging that can still drain the battery under heavy load. Alternatives: If you want something larger but still thin and portable, ASUS's bigger Zephyrus G16 is the best option. If you're after a 14" gaming laptop, the Zephyrus G14 is the best we've tested, and it's the only one that goes above RTX 5070 graphics. The next 14" runner up is the Razer Blade 14.
