Razer Blade 18 (2025)

Our take: The Razer Blade 18 (2025) is a clear buy on sale if you want a premium 18 inch gaming laptop that's thinner, lighter, better built, and faster than most of the 18" competition. Best for buyers who want a high-end all-metal desktop replacement with strong performance and a fast screen. Skip it if you want the best value, maximum upgradeability, Mini-LED brightness, or guaranteed bug-free dGPU behavior today.
Configs to buy / avoid: The bigger 18" chassis does not limit performance, so purchase with the GPU you need. We generally suggest avoiding spending more for the top-tier RTX 5090 due to diminishing returns unless you've got the money, want the extra VRAM or encoders.
Testing notes: The Blade 18 delivered excellent RTX 5090 gaming performance, full-powered GPU behavior under combined load, much better CPU power than last year, strong creator performance, good battery life for an 18", low fan noise for the class, Advanced Optimus, G-Sync, upgradeable RAM, two M.2 slots, fast SD card speeds, and the fastest 18 inch screen we have tested.
Trade-offs: The main compromises are very high pricing, black screen issues in dGPU mode during testing, fewer upgrade slots than most 18 inch rivals, slower Wi-Fi than some competitors, no Mini-LED option, Synapse software bugs, a stiff power connector, basic BIOS options, and no Gen 5 SSD or DDR5-6400 RAM from the factory.
Alternatives: If you want the best overall 18 inch gaming laptop, consider the Lenovo Legion 9i because it ranked higher overall with better performance, ports, software, speakers, battery life, and upgradeability. If you want better value and cooler internals, consider the Alienware 18 Area-51 because it's better in most aspects for less money.
