Configs to buy / avoid: This model is worth considering with the RTX 5080 or RTX 5090 graphics, OLED screen, 32GB RAM, 1TB+ SSD and 99Wh battery. If you're after RTX 5070 Ti tier performance, consider saving some money with the lower tier Legion Pro 5i instead. Lenovo might offer a smaller 80Wh battery, we recommend spending a little extra for the bigger 99Wh capacity. Testing notes: The Legion Pro 7i delivered excellent gaming performance, very high CPU power, excellent creator results, a bright 500 nit OLED screen, fast system latency, Advanced Optimus, G-Sync, fast Wi-Fi 7, fast Gen 5 SSD speeds, two RAM slots, two M.2 slots, and excellent BIOS tuning options. Trade-offs: The main compromises are the huge 400W charger, worse cable management from losing rear ports, no Thunderbolt 5, no IR camera, average battery life, poor 100W Type-C gaming, and louder fans in higher modes. Alternatives: Given the only real difference in the 2026 model is the the slightly refreshed 290HX processor, last year's 2025 Legion Pro 7i likely offers better value.
