New Week, New Laptops Deals!

Hello deal hunters!

We didn’t see any amazing 4th of July sales to justify an extra email last week – but now we’re back with the best deals of this week!

This Week’s Best Deals

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS

RAM: 16GB DDR5-5600

Display: 16.1” 1920 × 1080 144Hz

SSD: 512GB

$999.99 at Best Buy
Save $400 (29%)
Was $1399.99

Comments: This one doesn’t need too much explanation – any time an RTX 4070 gaming laptop hits $1000, it’s likely a good deal.

The only other time this has happened recently was with the ASUS TUF. HP’s Victus is in a similar tier compared to that, but this newer 2024 model has a newer current gen processor.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS

RAM: 16GB DDR5-4800

Display: 16” 2560 × 1600 165Hz

$1147.49 at Lenovo (Pickup at Best Buy)
Save $202.50 (15%)
Was $1349.99

Comments: This one actually costs more compared to the Victus above, despite having slower memory, an older CPU, and the same GPU – so what’s the deal?

Well, it’s a higher quality chassis with nicer build quality and a better screen.

Yeah, it’s not as cheap as the Victus, but realistically this is still a good price for a good quality RTX 4070 gaming laptop.

The 2024 model with 8845HS processor was on sale a couple of weeks back, but it was still about $140 more than this – so this is a good price with the compromise of the Zen 3 processor (2022 level performance).

That said, honestly, if you can afford it, I would pay the extra for the newer Zen 4 CPU if the sale comes around again.

CPU: Intel Core i9-14900HX

RAM: 16GB DDR5-5600

Display: 16” 2560 × 1600 240Hz

$1613 at Lenovo
Save $676.99 (30%)
Was $2289.99

Comments: Alright, this is not a particularly amazing price as far as RTX 4070 performance goes, especially compared to the above deals – but hear me out.

In our opinion, this is the best gaming laptop that we’ve tested in 2024 so far out of 19 models – reasons why are covered in the “video of the week” section below.

Basically it’s a great all round option with few negatives – the biggest one being the price. But this the lowest we’ve seen the RTX 4070 version available for so far, so it was worth shouting out.

I’d love for it to be closer to $1500 like the ASUS Zephyrus M16 sales we’ve seen, but unfortunately we’re not there just yet – fingers crossed for Black Friday! Until then, this is the best price so far.

If you’re just after raw performance though, it’s worth waiting for an RTX 4080 deal, as this performs 55% better than the 4070 and has gone on sale in the past for as low as $1750.

These are some nice deals – but sales change over time. Our website is updated multiple times a day, so check it out regularly to save money 🤑

It’s the middle of the year! Which means we’re due for an update to the “Top 5 best gaming laptops” list.

Tip of the Week

When is the best time to buy a new gaming laptop?

We’ve tracked deals on the site for a couple of years now – these are the best sale periods we’ve seen:

Black Friday (November 29th) – Cyber Monday (December 2nd): The best sales all year happen here, about a month before Christmas.

The bigger question is whether or not it’s worth waiting for CES in January, as that’s usually when next gen models launch.

Amazon Prime Day (July 16th-17th): We don’t normally see too many good gaming laptop deals from Amazon themselves.

But when Amazon runs their big sale of the year, other companies tend to jump in with their own sales too.

Last year Best Buy ran their “Black Friday in July” sale – so hopefully we see some good sales next week!

Back to School Sales (Late July – Early August): These sales are usually for more general purpose laptops for school use, but gaming models still see some nice deals over this period.

While some times of the year have better sales, it’s not always possible to wait until the right time of the year to get the best deal.

If you need something sooner, the daily deals on the site have got you covered. But if you can wait, you’ll likely save money buying during these periods.

Alright, these are our favorite gaming laptop deals of the week! Did we miss something you have your eyes on 👀? Reply and let us know!
