Comments: This is the cheapest RTX 4060 gaming laptop we’ve found recently.
Overall, Lenovo’s LOQ is a great budget option. But this version is cheaper than the others due to the 7435HS CPU.
This processor does not have integrated graphics, so battery life isn’t as good compared to most others, as shown in our recent review.
But if you always use your laptop with the charger connected then this is a great way to save some money.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070
RAM: 16GB DDR5-5600
Display: 15.6” 2560 × 1440 165Hz
SSD: 1TB
$999.99 at Micro Center
Save $320 (24%)
Was $1319.99
Comments: This is one of the cheapest 4070 gaming laptops we’ve seen in a while – the other recent one a few weeks back was an ASUS TUF, but with an older processor.
In terms of value for dollar, this deal is one of the best we’ve got at the moment.
On average, the RTX 4070 performs about 22% faster than the 4060 in games at 1440p. This costs 25% more compared to the above 4060 deal, so that’s not unreasonable if you’ve got extra budget for more GPU power.
Not to mention with integrated Ryzen graphics, battery life will be much better with the Katana too. Plus it has a better screen and double the SSD space!
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 185H
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4080
RAM: 32GB LPDDR5X-6400
Display: 16” 2560 × 1600 240Hz OLED
SSD: 1TB

Comments: This is new low price for this laptop!
Yeah, it’s on the more expensive side as far as RTX 4080 gaming laptops go (we’ve got another 4080 deal for $600 less) – but hear me out.
The G16 is the thinnest, lightest, most portable 16” gaming laptop we’ve ever reviewed.
The compromise is it uses soldered memory, and although the cheaper RTX 4070 configuration is limited to just 16GB, this higher tier 4080 version has 32GB, which should be plenty for most people.

Video of the Week – Best Premium 16” Gaming Laptop?
This week I’ve compared Lenovo’s Legion 7i against ASUS’s Zephyrus G16 in-depth.
Both are very nice premium gaming laptops – but they each have positives and negatives – find out which one is best for you here 👇
Tip of the Week – Same Specs, Different Performance?
Two gaming laptops with the same GPU can perform very differently – take this example in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p high settings:
Laptop 1 with RTX 4060: 71 FPS
Laptop 2 with RTX 4060: 88 FPS
That’s a 24% FPS boost with laptop 2, despite it having the same GPU – But what’s the difference?
It’s the GPU power limit (and a CPU difference, though to less of a degree).
Laptop 1 is Gigabyte’s G5 which runs the RTX 4060 at 65-75W, while Laptop 2 is ASUS’s Strix G16, which runs the RTX 4060 at 90-140W.
More power equals more performance, but it also results in more heat. Cheaper laptops like the G5 are able to lower price by using less materials (e.g. smaller cooler, lower powered charger), but the compromise is it ends up performing closer to RTX 4050 laptops in the tier below.
Fortunately these days most laptop spec sheets list at least the maximum GPU power limit, which is helpful. But ultimately your best bet is to check our laptop reviews and see how different laptops actually perform in games.
You can see how different laptop GPUs perform at different power levels in our GPU power scaling testing.
