This Week’s Laptop Deals Are Here!

Hello deal hunters!

The best gaming laptop deals of the week are here:

This Week’s Best Deals

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS

RAM: 16GB DDR5-4800

Display: 15.6” 1920 × 1080 165Hz

SSD: 512GB

$849.99 at Dell
Save $250 (23%)
Was $1099.99

Comments: Ok ok, we had this deal last week, but it did disappear for a bit and only just returned.

Fact is, this is the lowest price RTX 4060 we have at the moment, and is worth checking out if you’re after a solid mid-range gaming laptop.

Despite the lower price, there’s no sacrifice on the screen, as it still has 100% sRGB color gamut, a fast response time, and even G-Sync support.

CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 185H

RAM: 16GB LPDDR5X-6400

Display: 16” 2560 × 1600 240Hz OLED

$1599.99 at Best Buy
Save $400 (20%)
Was $1999.99

Comments: It’s not often that we feature deals on 2024 gaming laptops, because last gen 2023 models usually offer better savings.

But this is the lowest price ASUS’s Zephyrus G16 with OLED screen has gotten to so far, and was worth a mention for those waiting for it.

The screen looks epic, but the main downside is the 16 gigs of soldered RAM that cannot be upgraded, so you’ll have to decide if that’s enough for you.

CPU: Intel Core i9-14900HX

Display: 16” 2560 × 1600 240Hz

$1749.99 at Best Buy
Save $550 (24%)
Was $2299.99

Comments: This great deal from a couple of weeks ago is back!

This is one of the best prices you’ll find for a good quality RTX 4080 gaming laptop without dropping down to a low quality screen or other sacrifices.

The Helios only costs 9% more money compared to the previous Zephyrus G16 deal, but the RTX 4080 performs about 55% faster than the RTX 4070 in games at 1440p.

Granted the Zephyrus is more portable with an OLED screen, but the Helios offers more performance for your dollar with a higher tier CPU and the option of upgradeable memory.

These are some nice deals – but sales change over time. Our website is updated multiple times a day, so check it out regularly to save money 🤑

Video of the Week

Gigabyte’s gaming laptops haven’t been super competitive for the last few years, but that might be starting to change with their new Aorus 16X.

It’s not perfect – nothing in life is, but it’s much better compared to previous models from the Aorus series – Check it out 👇

Tip of the Week

Which GPU brand should you get in your new gaming laptop – NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel?

The simple fact is, right now, there are more NVIDIA options available. They generally offer more features, and their drivers are typically better too.

Unfortunately there are very few laptops with AMD Radeon graphics this generation – not ideal for competition.

The most popular Radeon laptop currently is ASUS’s TUF A16 with RX 7600S or 7700S, which perform similarly to NVIDIA’s RTX 4050 and 4060 respectively. The A16 offers excellent value with the right sale, we’ve listed it a number of times on the site.

But AMD is completely absent from the higher end, and offers nothing to compete with NVIDIA’s RTX 4070, 4080 or 4090 options.

Although AMD GPUs can use FSR3 frame generation, they cannot use DLSS or DLSS3 frame generation. Meanwhile NVIDIA options get the best of both worlds – so more support.

What about Intel?

Very few gaming laptops have discrete Intel graphics so far, as they’re still relatively new. As a result, their drivers and support in games typically isn’t as good compared to NVIDIA and AMD.

This is getting better all the time, but for now, personally, I’d stay away from the current generation until things get ironed out in future.

An AMD or NVIDIA option is the way to go for lower to mid-range, while NVIDIA is the only option for high-end.
