ASUS Strix Scar 16 (2025) Deals in the United Kingdom

Our take: The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 16 (2025) is a clear buy on sale if you want top-tier gaming performance, a very bright Mini-LED screen, and the easiest RAM and SSD upgrade access we have tested. Best for high-end gamers who want maximum power in a 16 inch chassis. Skip it if you want something light, cheap, OLED, or ideal for left-handed desk setups.
Configs to buy / avoid: Buy the RTX 5080 config on sale because it should get most of the Scar 16 experience without the full RTX 5090 price hit, unless you want the extra VRAM and GPU performance and can justify the high price tag. Testing notes: The Scar 16 delivered very impressive CPU performance, both with and without the charger connected, top-tier RTX 5090 gaming performance, cool keyboard temps, reasonable fan noise for the power, tool-less RAM and SSD access, Thunderbolt 5, Advanced Optimus, G-Sync, and a bright Mini-LED screen around 1200 nits. Trade-offs: The main compromises were high pricing, heavy weight for a 16 inch laptop, average battery life, faster battery drain while asleep, left-heavy port placement, no rear ports, no Type-C on the right, and Mini-LED blooming. Alternatives: If the Scar 16 is too heavy or you prefer OLED, consider the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i instead. If you want the same laptop with a bigger screen, check out the ASUS Strix Scar 18.

Best Alternative

Lenovo Legion Pro 7i (2025)

The Scar 16 and Legion Pro 7i are our top picks for powerful 16" gaming laptops. If you'd prefer an OLED screen, or if there's simply a better deal, the Legion Pro 7i is worth considering instead.

Also consider: ASUS Strix Scar 18

Only worth considering if you want the same laptop, but with a larger 18" screen. Games objectively look better playing on a bigger screen, but that comes at the expense of a heavier laptop.
