Configs to buy / avoid: Buy the RTX 5070 Ti config if you mainly want the dual-screen workflow and can get it on sale, because the RTX 5090 model is poor value for gaming. Avoid the RTX 5090 unless you specifically need the extra VRAM or encoders and do not care that cheaper 5090 and even 5080 laptops can perform better. Testing notes: The Zephyrus Duo 16 delivered outstanding battery life thanks to Intel's power efficient Panther Lake processor, even with two excellent OLED touchscreens. We measured cool thermals, comfortable surface temperatures, great sounding speakers, fast Gen 5 storage, a fast SD card reader, and usable RTX 5090 gaming performance at 2880x1800 with DLSS. Trade-offs: The main compromises are extremely high pricing, lower gaming performance than other laptops with similar GPUs, soldered RAM, limited upgrade access beyond the two M.2 slots, no Thunderbolt 5, and no Advanced Optimus. Alternatives: If you don't want to over spend for dual screens, but still want a sleek well build laptop, ASUS's Zephyrus G16 is the move. Otherwise if you want to spend less for better performance, Lenovo's Legion Pro 7i offers better value and strong gaming performance.
