Gigabyte Aorus Master 16 (2025)

Our take: The Gigabyte Aorus Master 16 (2025) is a maybe-buy only on a big sale if you want high-end gaming performance, a fast OLED screen, and strong cooling. Best for gamers who care more about FPS, low latency, Wi-Fi speed, and specs than premium build quality or polished software. Skip it if you want a truly premium-feeling laptop, stable software, reliable performance on battery power, or good value.
Configs to buy / avoid: The RTX 5090 configuration is especially difficult to justify with how expensive it typically is compared to better competing laptops, and the fact that the 5090 is generally only ~15% faster compared to the 5080.
Testing notes: The Aorus Master 16 delivered excellent gaming performance, fast Wi-Fi, a high level of CPU performance, a nice OLED screen with fast response time, very low system latency, cool internal temperatures, strong SSD and MicroSD card speeds, Advanced Optimus, G-Sync, and great Linux support.
Trade-offs: The main compromises were plastic build quality with more flex and screen wobble than expected, mushy keyboard feel, buggy GiMate control panel software, a risky bottom-panel ribbon cable when opening it up, rough fan control behavior, unimpressive speakers, poor Latencymon results, and a failed YouTube battery test on our unit. It performs well, but it does not feel polished enough for the higher price.
Alternatives: For this sort of price, consider the superior ASUS Scar 16 or Lenovo Legion Pro 7i, both of which are better in most aspects.
