Configs to buy / avoid: Buy the RTX 5070 Ti with the right sale. This configuration has had plenty of amazing sales in the past and is highly recommended. The RTX 5060 configuration usually doesn't cost that much less, and comparatively, typically offers less value. Testing notes: The Helios Neo 16S delivered a great OLED screen with sub-1ms response times, Advanced Optimus, G-Sync, up to RTX 5070 Ti graphics with 12GB VRAM, cool internal temperatures, decent battery life for its size, two RAM slots, two M.2 slots, and excellent Linux support. Trade-offs: The main compromises were lower CPU and GPU power limits than its thicker competitors, warmer keyboard temps in the middle under load, a soft feeling plastic touchpad, annoying bloatware comes installed, no Thunderbolt 5, no manual 60Hz screen mode, and poor Type-C gaming performance. Alternatives: If you want to maximize game FPS per dollar, consider MSI's Vector 16 instead, but not as good quality. But if you care more about portability, OLED, and a nicer overall design, the Helios Neo 16S is the better balanced pick, and you'll only find better by spending more on a Lenovo Legion 7i (which is limited to RTX 5070 graphics), or an ASUS Zephyrus G16.
